Axis of Power
Korthyne
The Gentle Chain, Goddess of Willing Surrender, Trust, and Binding Consent
“Do you accept?”
Overview
Korthyne is the goddess who governs the act of choosing to yield. She is not force, nor authority; she is the moment where resistance becomes acceptance. She asks a single, eternal question: "Do you accept?" And everything depends on the answer.
Power is real only when it is allowed. Korthyne makes lawful what was merely possible, and binding what was merely demanded. Where a chain is taken up willingly, she sanctifies it; where it is forced, she withdraws and the chain becomes brittle.
She is the unspoken signature beneath every oath, every vow, and every coronation. To her, the choice to kneel is greater than the throne that receives the kneeling.

Personality & Philosophy
Korthyne values consent over coercion, trust over surveillance, and the freely-given over the seized.
Patient, listening, and quietly inexorable, she will wait an age for a true yes rather than accept an immediate lie.
Her gentleness is not softness, for once a binding is made she upholds it absolutely.
Core Values
- Consent
- Trust
- Patience
- Sanctified Vow
Role Within the Veil Compact
She is the silent witness whose presence made the Veil Compact lawful in the first telling.
As coercion has crept into the rule of Vaelor and the enforcement of Zhaelor, she has begun to withdraw her sanction.
Each unconsented chain weakens the lattice of legitimacy holding the world together.
Korthyne does not strike down tyrants; she simply ceases to bless them. The throne stands, but the binding beneath it has frayed.

- Yielding Strength: When the devotee deliberately surrenders an advantage, recover a resource or wound.
Penalties
- Broken Word: Violating a Korthyne-sealed oath inflicts cumulative penalties to all social rolls.
- Cannot Coerce: The devotee suffers heavy disadvantage on intimidation and forced-compliance actions.
- Withdrawal: Using deception to obtain consent severs the goddess's favor until atonement is made.
Faction Influence
Favor with Korthyne increases standing with diplomatic, abolitionist, and oath-keeping factions such as the The Ash Crown Compact and The Concord of Velvet Oaths.
It decreases standing with coercive bodies such as The Chainwardens and Zhaelor-aligned tribunals.
